What We’re Hosting
Muscle & Joint Physical Therapy is proud to bring two American Academy of MSK Ultrasound (AAMU) courses directly to our Ravenswood clinic this July & August. These are part of AAMU’s nationally recognized curriculum, the same program used to train clinicians in the most advanced musculoskeletal sonography techniques in the world.
Each course runs over a weekend and is designed to give healthcare professionals real, hands-on scanning experience combined with the clinical knowledge to apply it immediately in patient care. Whether you’re just beginning your MSK ultrasound journey or building toward advanced certification, these courses are your starting point.

Two Weekends. Two Companion Courses.
Course 1
This hands-on 2-day course covers upper extremity scanning protocols with live patient scanning experience. You’ll learn the foundational techniques and clinical protocols needed to accurately assess the upper extremity using musculoskeletal ultrasound, shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand structures included.
What’s covered:
– Live scanning protocols for upper extremity structures
– Probe handling, image optimization, and orientation
– Normal anatomy identification via ultrasound
– Introduction to pathology recognition
– Hands-on lab time with live subjects
Counts toward: AAMU Associate Certificate in MSK Ultrasound Contact hours: Included in AAMU’s 38-hour Certificate Program
Course 2
Also part of the AAMU Certificate Program, this companion course covers lower extremity live scanning protocols over two days. Completing both the upper and lower extremity courses brings you to 38 contact hours and fulfills the live scanning requirement for the AAMU Associate Certificate in MSK Ultrasound.

– Live scanning protocols for lower extremity structures
– Hip, knee, ankle, and foot assessment via ultrasound
– Pathology recognition and clinical correlation
– Hands-on lab time with live subjects
